Our baby with the broken heart

I took little Finian to his 2 week well baby check up and the pediatrician thought his heart sounded abnormally loud. He sent us up to Primary Children's Hospital to have some testing done. Talk about heart failure for his mother! They did and Echo(ultrasound) and an EKG. They found a venticular septal defect, which means he has a small hole between his two ventricals and a mildly abnormal pulmonary valve. Apparetly his valve dosen't quite open all the way, making it narrow so when the blood pumps through it makes a loud noise. Anyway, nobody panic. He is okay, we just have to watch it and take him back up to PCH for follow up appointments to make sure it dosen't progress into something more serious. The cardiologists was confident that they would both heal on their own by the time he was one.

Trista, I am so sorry! That is so stressful. We had to take Sophia to PCH when she was 5 weeks old and I thought I might die. Hope everything heals as planned. He is a sweetie pie.
